Compadre Y Compadre (Brother to Brother) is a United Way (Successful Children’s Issue Council) funded fathers only parenting program for residents in the San Antonio area. This program will make the difference in children’s lives by encouraging nurturing relationships between fathers and their children. Utilizing The Nurturing Parent Program curriculum specifically for fathers, facilitators will lead participants through a 15-week group experience where they will learn non-violent parenting skills. Beginning with “Daddy Boot Camp” an intense immersion into the world of being a father, participants will learn how to change diapers, feed and entertain their child. The remaining weeks include hands-on experiences in developing self awareness and finally becoming a Compadre to other fathers.
